Mike Musson
Mike MussonPartner
Mike is a partner with the firm. He participates extensively in the tax practice, and leads our audit and accounting practice providing our clients with financial statements necessary for internal purposes, banks, and investors, to name a few. In addition, as part of many of our consulting engagements, particularly those involving buying or selling businesses, forecasts, cash flow and costing analyses, and internal control studies, Mike draws on his 30 years of business and tax experience to work through problems and issues with our team. Developing customized spreadsheet analyses for many applications is a strength of his. We are in for the long-run with our clients and Mike works to address immediate concerns, solve problems, and ultimately plan for the future.

Mike graduated with honors from U.C. Santa Barbara earning a business economics degree including an accounting emphasis. During his university years as an undergraduate, Mike was a teaching assistant in the economics department, worked for one of his accounting professors in his accounting practice, and worked in the on-campus computer lab as a teacher. Mike joined Linkenheimer LLP after working in the tax department of Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) in their San Francisco office. At AY, Mike received valuable experience in the areas of tax law research, biotech, venture capital, real estate, and mergers and acquisitions. Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. The firm is a member of Alliott Group North America, which is affiliated with a world-wide association of independent accounting, law and consultancy firms. As part of the firm’s commitment, Mike teaches at annual staff training sessions.

Community service is important to the firm, and to Mike, personally. As the treasurer of Elsie Allen High School Foundation, he works closely with the school and its supporters to provide opportunities for southwest Santa Rosa high schoolers with college aspirations. He is also involved with Rotary and assists the local Boy Scouts of America training team.

Most of Mike’s free time is spent with family – Annette, Jonah, and Kaya (Yellow Labrador Retriever). He also enjoys time spent helping to coach baseball, taking Boy Scouts backpacking, and working with youth golfers. But, when time is available, he likes to read. Summers are spent playing golf with family and friends, mountain biking, hiking and backpacking, fishing and traveling. He loves to snow ski.
