We have several businesses related to our core business of selling wine. Those other business are separate entities with similar owners, but not exactly the same. In addition, these other businesses have transaction with our core business so it’s important for us (and our bank) to clearly understand that everything is done on the up and up. Linkenheimer helps to identify those issues that may raise questions. They then ask us questions so they can further investigate, evaluate and document exactly what is being done and how it affects the core business. We don’t mind the prying questions for two reasons; we have nothing to hide, and Linkenheimer has our back.
What stands out about their service and staff is that the people we deal with at Linkenheimer always show an interest in our business, and patience in asking questions (and waiting for answers) in order to understand the various complexities of what we do throughout the year. We work with Mike Musson and Christi Valencia, and have for several years. It’s very helpful not to have to break in new staff every year or two to understand your business like at some larger firms.
The relationship has two facets. First, the annual review is fairly standard. Linkenheimer contacts us at the beginning of the year with a list of client provided information. They may personally come to our office or simply do everything by telephone and email. They know our business well enough at this point we and they are comfortable with either approach. Questions and answers are exchanged and the process wraps up. The other facet of our relationship is having them available for consulting on various issues that come up throughout the year. Knowing they are available and can factor these issues into their understanding of our business gives us confidence in the advice they provide throughout the year.
Would you recommend Linkenheimer to family and friends? Without reservation. I already have recommended them to a friend’s business, which signed them up right away.
