Document Uploads & Requirements
What documents do I need to upload for my tax return?
Your Document Request List in the Client Collaboration portal shows exactly what we need. Common items include W-2s, 1099s (all types), property tax statements, mortgage interest statements (Form 1098), charitable donation receipts, and any other income or deduction documentation.
The list stays open until your return is delivered—simply drag and drop documents anytime.
Where do I upload my tax documents?
Log into the Client Collaboration portal and use the Document Request List. You can drag and drop files directly, and they’ll automatically be categorized. If you’re uploading something that doesn’t fit a specific category, it will fall under “Unspecified” and our team will sort it.
We receive notifications each time you upload, so there’s no need to let us know separately.
Can I still upload documents after I've submitted my organizer?
Yes! You can continue uploading documents until your return is finalized. If you receive a late W-2 or remember a deduction, just add it to the portal. We’ll incorporate it if we haven’t completed your return, or discuss options if we have.
How do I know if I'm missing any documents?
Check your Document Request List in the portal—any items we still need will be marked as outstanding. If you’re unsure whether something is missing or relevant, contact your Linkenheimer team member and we’ll clarify.
