Managing Partner John Jones Leads Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary on Nicaragua Eye Care Trip

IMG_5090

Today 1344 eyes are smiling, seeing “mas claro” in 672 very grateful Nicaraguans in the Rio San Juan Region of southern Nicaragua.  Many of the those same people are equipped with both distance and near pair of glasses and protective sunglasses, “gafas” to keep damaging UV rays off their eyes.  In addition, 103 mouths are “mucho mas limpio”, reflecting improved oral health and a shift in treatment from extraction to restoration and prevention.

This year, the returning Nicaraguan Couple-Dentists Javier and Ana from the 200 km north capital Managua again worked with a Dental Hygienist from the Sabalos Regional Clinic to treat patients from pre-teen to “viejo”, senior citizens.  Peter Hoberg accepted the crucial role of instrument sterilizer, earning himself the unenviable evidence of chemically stained orange fingers.  Fortunately he did not exhibit any apparent cognitive lapses while on duty.

Over the course of three days, Sunrise Rotarians and some of their family focused on improving people’s visual acuity.  Steve “Grandpa” Zwick was the third generation in his family represented and remarkably both his daughter Jennifer and granddaughter Alessa brought valuable Spanish language and organizational skills.  Steve’s español is well known!  Alessa, just 12, quickly established […]

So what do Bear Republic Brewing Co. and Linkenheimer LLP CPAs & Advisors have in common?

NBBJ-BOL-BR-Wood-web

So what do Bear Republic Brewing Co. and Linkenheimer LLP CPAs & Advisors have in common? The answer is simple: Great people who are passionate about what they do and two companies that understand the importance of a team approach. And, the proof is in the pudding- or in this case- the beer: Winner of the Excellence in Craft Beer Industry Award for 2014, medals two years in a row for the Good Food Awards, medals at the Great American Beer Festival for 2004, 2006, 2012 and 2015, Racer 5 Gold medal at the 2015 Central California Craft Beer Competition, and the list goes on. But more importantly, they were awarded the Best Place to Work award in 2014 by the North Bay Business Journal, recognizing their commitment and dedication to their team. Much like Linkenheimer, who has won the Best Place to Work awards for 2015, 2014, 2013, 2010, along with the Inside Public Accounting Best of the Best firms for 2015, they realize the team is our greatest asset. We focus on our people, community, and company culture, which allows us to provide the best possible team approach to […]

Client News: Hittenberger Orthotics and Prosthetics LLC Travels To Haiti, Helps Amputees

At Linkenheimer, we love celebrating our client’s success. Below you’ll find an inspiring story written by our client Hittenberger Orthotics and Prosthetics LLC and Sonoma Medicine, detailing their desire to improve the lives of others. We hope you enjoy hearing their story as much as we do.

Lessons Learned Amidst The Rubble in Haiti.

Last fall, we went to Haiti with Mobility Outreach International to provide prosthetic care and what we found was kindness, compassion and hope around every corner.

Below are links to an article that appeared in Sonoma Medicine Magazine and a video from Haiti showing how they are improving lives one step at a time.

You will find the article and video compelling. It shows what strides they have taken to improve prosthetic care since the earthquake. Despite the odds, they are becoming whole again. We hope you find it inspiring.

When you combine caring, courage and knowledge to improve the lives of others, it is a gift from the heart.

Please call us about our involvement in […]

Linkenheimer Volunteers at Redwood Empire Food Bank

20150623_182651

On Tuesday evening, Linkenheimer staff, families and friends spent two hours helping the Redwood Empire Food Bank fill 3 and 5 pound bags of apples for distribution to those in need. Over the course of the evening, Linkenheimer filled and bagged 3,000 pounds of red apples. The summer months are critical for the REFB as they receive the most product during that time, yet it also proves to be one of the hardest times of the year to find volunteers. With schools out of session, their student base of volunteers typically dries up and other volunteer’s schedules are filled with summer trips and other events. Linkenheimer is honored to be able to assist the REFB and the local community that has given so much to us a firm. To find out how you can assist them, please check out their website: http://www.refb.org/

About Linkenheimer’s Community Efforts:

At Linkenheimer, we look to change lives locally and abroad through the work we do, the relationships we develop and the charities we support. We say we want to be Partners in our Client’s Success. This means we want to work with people we like and help them […]

Linkenheimer Teams up with the Human Race

THE HUMAN RACE — “Take a Walk on the WILD Side!”

To our friends,family and clients,

Do you know that nearly 80% of Nicaraguan’s live on less than $2 a day and the vast majority are living at or below the poverty line? Whether it’s putting food on the table, receiving medical attention, or caring for the elderly or sick, their communities are in need and resources are limited. Those of us with the ability to give time or money should be doing all we can to ease our global communities burdens. That’s why we’re excited to participate in the 2015 Human Race this spring. The funds we raise will go to support Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary Foundation (which will go towards the surgery center to be constructed in the village of Sabalos and the Rio San Juan Relief) in their efforts to provide medical relief to those who live in remote areas where it is otherwise unattainable. Our team at Linkenheimer spent over a week in the jungles of Nicaragua helping the people and providing medical assistance. It was life changing for those who participated and we are excited to give back to this […]
